The autumn 2016 issue of NWR Magazine is well underway and in the throes of production, and some of our members have questioned it’s recyclability and wondered how ‘green’ it really is. Well, we have some positive news we want to share with you!
Did you know that the ‘plastic’ that covered the last two issues of NWR Magazine is actually NOT plastic, but Monolite bio film? We’re happy to say that it’s 100% biodegradable and will decompose in the landfills within twelve months.
Here are some of the environmental advantages of Monolite:
- Up to 50% lower raw material usage of an oil-based product
- Lower transportation requirements
- 50% less waste material
- Quicker to degrade than standard poly
- 100% fully recyclable
As for the magazine paper – although it is not entirely recycled – the timber used in the manufacture of the pulp which creates the paper, comes from sustainable and well-managed forests. The timber is treated as a crop with planting programmes exceeding the quantity of felled trees.
As important as recycling is, RE-USING (and re-circulating) is key, so we encourage you to pass on your NWR Magazine and give a friend (or a stranger in a friendly gesture) the chance to see one of the many benefits of being part of NWR!
