Our night on Japan was a great success – thanks to Moyra for supplying three authentic kimonos. Margaret gave us an “in a nutshell” history of Japans role in the WW2 and religion. Helens personal reflections having entertained many Japanese visits over the years was entertaining and insiteful as was her humerous “take” on being a mature Geisha. Claire enlightened us on the role and history of the Geisha (note Margets Kimono is tied at the front – if you don’t know why then you might like to Google it!). After an introduction to the famous “Tea Ceremony” we were served green tea and “Mount Fuji fondants” handmade by Margaret (who spent a whole day making them!).
