We had a very pleasant afternoon today at Jodrell Bank.
We toured the new First Light Pavilion, including 2 good short films in its Space Dome and a tour of the First Light Exhibition. The highlight there was a quiz where we succeeded, to activate a meteor shower! Oh, and one of us posing as a WWII spy!
Then we visited the older scientific displays in the Space Pavilion and got a printout of a radio signal…
We went to a talk by an amusing young scientist complete with demonstrations of orbital path (could have been very wet), matter packing into a “black hole” and a rocket launch, interspersed with good space information.
We couldn’t leave without whispering to one another at the Whispering Gallery – still just as good as ever.
