Although it’s months away, some of us have already started limbering up for an HF walking holiday in the spring. We clocked up five miles in the grounds of the Stowe estate last Monday, while also admiring the rotunda, pavilions and statues as well as the special Armistice Day exhibition.
The number of outings made by the group during the last couple of weeks has been positively hectic: trips to the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford to see the Colour Revolution: Victorian Art, Fashion & Design exhibition; the Monet immersive experience in Brick Lane, London; and the Banksy exhibition, also in London. The Brick Lane visit has inspired a return trip to look at the street art there. It will be in April – more details to follow.
Our next major outing is to Kew Gardens in December to see the Christmas lights; in the New Year, we’re returning to the Birmingham Rep. for Bhangra Nation, and off to the Royal Albert Hall for Cirque de Soleil.
We don’t have an official outings organiser, so many thanks to Heather who’s arranged most of these visits.
