PUTTING THE FUN INTO FUNDRAISING

Leighton Buzzard certainly put the fun into fundraising this weekend and made exactly £400 for NWR funds.    Four of our members organised a flash sale, with the rest of us donating new or nearly new clothes, jewellery and accessories.   Our resident artist, a talented lino-cutter, donated greeting cards which we could buy, and two of the group made delicious cakes.

Our AS, and LB member, turned her house into an upscale charity shop for the afternoon with clothes and accessories in the conservatory and refreshments and greeting cards in the dining room.   The changing room was an upstairs bedroom.

Many of our group came to look at what was on offer and had the opportunity to sit and chat with not only our own fellow members, but with members of Milton Keynes West who joined us for the afternoon.

Whatever wasn’t sold will be dispersed amongst the charity shops of Leighton Buzzard, so a win-win for charity.

We were lucky with the weather and lots of us sat in the garden to share conversation and talk about our bargains.

It was a lovely afternoon and we are absolutely delighted with our contribution to national funds.
