The Mary Stott Award 2021

Fiona Catterson is the LO of our NWR group in Kilbarchan in the west of Scotland. She was presented with the Mary Stott Award at the National Conference on Saturday 11 September 2021. This award is presented annually to an NWR member who has made an exceptional contribution to NWR, her community or a wider initiative. Candidates should exemplify exceptional personal development and unswerving commitment to their cause and are nominated by NWR members.

We are very proud that Fiona is the recipient of this award. She has supported our group during the pandemic by helping us to maintain links with one another and also to engage with the full range of NWR’s digital offerings helping us to feel part of the wider NWR community. Her work to gain Lottery funding for the Friends of Stanley Park Care Home in Paisley and also her environmental activities and research into climate change and conservation were also recognised by the judges. In nominating her our group commented that “Fiona is deeply committed and very active in her church. She is passionate about climate change, single use plastics and conservation, and with her push the church has become an Eco Church community, moving from strength to strength, and expecting to achieve silver and then gold status.”

Well done Fiona! We’re all very proud of you.
