The Tower of London

Three members of LB1, one from LB2 and a fellow visitor on her own visited the Tower last week. We couldn’t have gone on a more beautiful day. There was hardly a cloud in the sky and it was warm enough to walk around in comfort.

We went to see the second time that ceramic poppies have been installed there. However, I hadn’t been there since I was a child, and the memories of others were indistinct.

We spent a while in the White Tower, queued to see the very busy Crown Jewels, experienced horror stories in the Prison Tower, and walked the battlements. The Traitors’ Gate was atmospheric.

It was a 12 hour day, starting and finishing at home. It was well worth it.
