Visit to the Speaker’s House
Yesterday, several members of Leighton Buzzard 1 took advantage of the opportunity to tour the Speaker’s House. Tours are available during the summer and Easter recesses of Parliament and take approximately 75 minutes. This is what the official description says:
“This guided tour offers you the unique opportunity see inside the incredible rooms and get up close to some of the magnificent artworks, including portraits of Speakers through the years. Your guide will share some lesser-known historical facts about the role of the Speaker – a role that has existed since 1377. You’ll also see some suprising objects along they way and learn their origins and relationship to Parliament.”
