We are a thriving, though modest-sized, group aged in our 60s to 80s who meet fortnightly on Tuesday evenings or Thursday afternoons. Our meetings are varied with a mixture of thought provoking and fun topics – sometimes we’ll have a topic to discuss, for others we’ll have something to research.
We participate in NWR national events (winning the Telephone Treasure Trail on one occasion), we enjoy food and social evenings, as well as more serious talks and discussions.
We have outings to the local theatres in Westcliff and Southend and use the local coach company for day trips. Our walks are usually monthly and varied . We sometimes do urban walks such as the Leigh on Sea Art Trail or mystery walks around Southend and Rayleigh and go into London for walks such as ‘The Line’ an art walk starting in Stratford.
We have an optional book group meeting on Tuesday mornings and usually six weekly intervals.
