NWR is the best organisation for women that nobody seems to have heard of! Our meetings are the perfect opportunity to make more local friends.
Our group started in Wokingham over the summer of 2024. Our meetings always include a discussion topic, mostly light-hearted but with the occasional more serious one. We frequently find we go “off-topic” so we end up discussing all sorts of things, and we have time for social chat as well.

Our meetings take place approximately fortnightly on Wednesday/Thursday evenings (6.30/7.00) and Friday afternoons (2.30) in local pubs and cafes. Below is our programme for October 2025 to 9th January 2026:
Thurs 9th October evening – Where Am I? Bring along three clues to a city or country and see if we can guess what it is.
Friday 17th October afternoon: Talk about a piece of music, work of art or anything else that is particularly meaningful for you
Thursday 30th October evening: What was happening in 1925 and what do you think life will be like in 2125?
Monday 10th November afternoon: Telephone Treasure Trail starting at 2pm
Thursday 20th November evening: Do you enjoy cooking or is it a chore? Do you have a favourite recipe to pass on to members? did you learn from a family member, or from recipe books?
Thursday 4th December evening: South Hill Pantomime
Friday 12th December afternoon: Christmas lunch
Fri 9th January 2026 afternoon: The History of Clothing. Do you have a favourite period that you can picture yourself in?
As well as our regular “discussion meetings” we have enjoyed some local walks and plans are in hand for more walks and outings in the near future. We also have a WhatsApp group for members.
In addition to local group activities, NWR membership gives you access to a whole range of national events including online meetings, talks, exercise classes, virtual book clubs and Facebook groups. An annual highlight is the “Telephone Treasure Trail” held in November.
