Twelve members of our group met up last night for an evening entitled: “A Trip Around the Country,” for which we were each tasked with choosing, discovering, and sharing some enlightening and entertaining facts about one of the UK Counties. There is an awful lot to choose from, and it was not easy to winkle out some impressive facts and still keep within the 7 minutes we were each trying to limit ourselves to! Timekeeping is obviously not our strong point, and the helpful digital timer beeped and was over-ruled quite a few times… Kudos to those who managed a succinct and still very informative contribution within the time limit! 👍
The counties we took a trip around were: Yorkshire, Lancashire, Somerset, Nottinghamshire, Tyne & Wear, Cumbria, Cheshire, Surrey, Hampshire, Lincolnshire, Wiltshire, and…. The Cotswolds.
We joked about hiring a coach and going off on a tour, taking in all the interesting places we heard about. Well, who knows?!?
