A few of us visited Biddulph Old Hall after attending Staffordshire Moorlands day conference earlier this year when Nigel and Brian (but mainly Nigel) talked about their love affair with this beautiful old building and Elizabethan ruins. After purchasing it they are slowly restoring it but not in the usual museum type way; instead they are modernizing it in a tasteful manner so the improvements blend with the style of the building.
The ruins have been transformed into a beautiful white garden with climbing roses and other plants in an informal style.
Nigel is an extremely enthusiastic speaker and could have talked until midnight but Brian reigned him in so we had time to enjoy home made cakes and tea!
