Five Horsham members walked from Brighton pier along the Undercliff to Saltdean lido (5 miles in all). The morning started cloudy but turned into a bright sunny day proving the weather forecast very wrong. We stopped halfway to eat our packed lunches and watch the rough sea as the incoming tide sent huge sprays over the sea wall onto our path. At the lido, four hardy souls had an hour’s swim whilst the photographer stayed dry and did some people watching! Afterwards, we all sat in the sunshine outside the lovely cafe for an hour and a half and had snacks, before dragging ourselves off to the bus stop to catch a bus back to the Park and Ride where we had left the car. All in all a super day out.
