Beckenham group had a very interesting talk from Barry McKay from Crystal Palace Museum on how Crystal Palace was used during various wars, including as a training centre during World War 1. Although we all live within spitting distance of Crystal Palace Park and walk regularly in the park it was interesting to hear some of the history. Barry gives a series of talks about the Palace and we will be inviting him back for more. He has volunteered there for many years and set up the museum.
