Last week the theatre group had their inaugural outing to see Birdsong at Aylesbury Waterside theatre. There were eight of us. We had excellent seats at the front of the circle. The adaptation of the Sebastian Faulkes novel worked well. It was powerful and moving. Although a little long (3 hours with 2 intervals) we were shaken from any reverie by several very loud bangs during the trenches scenes.
