Eleven members of the Bury St Edmunds group had our final (hopefully!
) Zoom meeting last night, on the topic of ‘Windows’
As is usually the case with these simple-sounding themes, we managed to range over a huge variety of interesting subjects: ‘Rear View Window’ (film); shop window displays (esp. Selfridges); Stained glass windows; the history of windows; the history of glass-making; window boxes; Window Tax & trompe l’oeil windows; the OXO building’s windows; windows in symbolism/idioms/sayings; windows in art & poetry; why Microsoft ‘Windows’? We could have gone on a lot further!
It is always worth having a topic like this every now and then – tunnels and bridges have provided two very good meetings!
