In advance of this year’s National Conference in Sheffield, we learned about the Sheffield ‘Women of Steel’ who helped to keep the steelworks running during the first and second world wars. We were very interested and in awe of their stories, as written about in Michelle Rawlins’ book, “Women of Steel: The Feisty Factory Sisters Who Helped Win the War”. We look forward to meeting Michelle at the National Conference in September.
